Travelling
Here is a list of plastic-free ideas for your next trip, regardless of your mode of transportation:
- A reusable stainless steel water bottle. It might be a good idea to bring a double-walled insulated water bottle so you can use it for coffee on the plane and refuse the styrofoam cup. You might also want to consider a collapsible stainless steel tumbler or a small double-walled tumbler if you want to travel light.

- A spork or reusable utensils. Get a foldable stainless steel spork, a bamboo spork or a set of portable bamboo utensils.

- A reusable straw. Get a stainless steel or a glass straw with a little brush so you can clean it right after use. This is especially important when traveling because sticky sodas or juices can soil your straw and you won’t be able to use it again until you find a decent kitchen to clean it.

- Baking soda in a small tin. You can mix it with a little bit of water to wash your dishes, your clothes or almost anything else, including your teeth.
- Earphones. Some airlines just throw out the ones they give away on the plane right after the plane has landed. Be sure to bring your own.
- An airtight stainless steel container that you can fill up with food at a restaurant while waiting to board your plane.
